First-Year Launchpad: A Strategic Start to College and Career Success

interests, and connecting with mentors early, students can gain valuable experience, strengthen their resumes, and feel more confident navigating future opportunities.

2

Leveraging LinkedIn: How to Build Your Personal Brand and Professional Network Starting in High School

careers, and uncover internship and job opportunities to get a head start on future

success.

3

For College Students and Families

1

Launchpad to Success: Building Your College and Career Foundation

This workshop guides freshmen and sophomore students on how to make the most of the early college years to set the stage for long-term success. By getting involved, exploring interests, and connecting with mentors early,

students can gain valuable experience, strengthen their resumes, and feel more confident navigating future opportunities.

2

Level Up with LinkedIn: Building Your Personal Brand and Professional Network

This workshop helps college students understand the importance of building

a strong professional presence on LinkedIn. Participants will learn how to create and optimize their profiles to showcase their unique brand, connect with professionals, explore majors and careers, and uncover internships and job opportunities to gain a competitive edge for future success.

3

Unlocking Career Opportunities with Purposeful Networking

This workshop helps students build confidence by reflecting on their current network and identifying ways to expand it. Drawing on research about the

power of “weak ties” — connections beyond your closest circle that often lead to new opportunities — participants will explore strategies to grow their

networks in meaningful ways. They’ll practice authentic networking and craft a personalized elevator pitch to open doors for future success.

4

Beyond the Résumé: Networking Strategies for Career Fair Success

This workshop teaches strategies for approaching the career fair as a networking opportunity rather than just a job search and walks students through an activity where they learn to weave their personal brand into their elevator pitch.

Jessica was a guest workshop instructor for both our college and high school fellowship programs in 2025, and her impact on our students was immediate and profound.

Jessica is a master at her craft. Her expertise in career readiness is evident not only in her deep knowledge but also in her ability to deliver complex topics with clarity and enthusiasm. She developed and led a series of dynamic workshops focused on leveraging LinkedIn, teaching World Trade Center Institute's 2025 Albrecht Fellowship cohorts for both high school and college students how to build professional profiles, expand their networks, and use the platform to advance their career goals. Jessica’s sessions were engaging, interactive, and directly addressed the needs of both our high school and college-aged participants.

The feedback we received from our fellows was overwhelmingly positive. Students consistently praised Jessica for her practical, actionable advice and for making a topic that often feels daunting both accessible and exciting. Her talent for connecting with young people and her genuine passion for helping them succeed are what set her apart. Jessica doesn't just teach skills; she empowers students with the confidence to take control of their career journeys.

Jessica is a gifted educator and a true professional. Her dedication to her students' success and her skill in delivering top-tier career programming are exceptional. I highly recommend her and Career Beginnings to any organization looking to equip its students and young professionals with the essential skills they need for a successful future.
